Virginia RV Trip-June '18

On the Way Through Tennessee

It had to happen.  It always does.  Someone, somewhere gets hurt or sick when it's vacation time.  This time, it was my wife who broke her ankle in Chattanooga while walking the dog.  As we walked, I whined, "my knees are killing me!"  She followed with, "You're turning into a whiney old decrepit man!"  Then God intervened and struck her down to the ground; tripped and broke her ankle.  All the way to the emergency room, I had a foolish grin on my face....and maintained total silence :)

Our Destination- Chantilly Farm-Floyd, VA

Can't say enough positive things about this place where we stayed near Floyd, VA (Chantilly Farm).  The only negative was no TV for 3 whole days and nights!  This beautiful 200-acre property is geared up for music venues and mass camping for the crowds (mini Woodstock?), but they have about 20  full hook-up RV sites.  The place was about 1/3 full, so we had the place pretty much to ourselves.

Our "Real" Destination-Black Dog Salvage-Roanoke VA

Don't think for one minute that I didn't know where we were really going.  The ONLY thing that saved me from 3 straight days of antique shopping was my wife's broken ankle.  Boomer and I only had to linger for about 3 hours of shopping, which was nice.  Interesting place, if you've never watched the show on TV.
